I had made the lemon cake on mothers day and guess what, that was the first time I had ever made a Lemon Cake, and it turned out to be so moist and yummy, you might be thinking that this cake would be very sour or khatta, but no, we've balanced all the flavour and of course there will be a lemony flavour in the cake, but I am sure that you will love the cake. Let's know more about the recipe.

So without further ado, I present to you how to make: Lemon Cake

  •  1 1/2 cup of milk
  •  12 tablespoons of clarified butter (ghee)
  •  3 cup all-purpose flour
  •  3 teaspoon baking powder
  •  1 teaspoon baking soda
  •  1 and 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  •  Few drops yellow food colour (optional)
  •  1 and 1/2 teaspoon lemon zest
  •  5 tablespoons lemon juice
  •  2 tbsp additional milk
Ingredients: (for glaze)
  1.  10 tablespoons powdered sugar mixed with 3 tablespoons of cornflour
  1.  4 tablespoons lime juice

Instructions:
In a big bowl, add milk and butter, then mix it well. After that sieve all-purpose flour, baking soda, baking powder, powdered sugar and mix it well. Then add few drops of yellow food colour, lemon zest and mix it well till the batter turns yellow in colour. Then add 5 tablespoons of lemon juice and 2 tbsp of milk, then mix the batter. Grease a cake tin lined with parchment paper and pour the batter into the tin. Bake at 180 degrees Celcius for 30 to 35 minutes. Making the glaze is very easy, just mix both the ingredients together and it's ready! After the cake is baked well, pour the glaze over it. ENJOY!!
